Philippe Halsman’s ‘Jump Book’… photographer Halsman, who had over 101 Life covers during his career, was not content to photograph his subjects sitting still but instead asked them to jump. The way that each person jumped showed their true personality. There are hundreds of photographs of iconic figures jumping, including President Nixon, Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Dali, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and architect Walter Gropius.
